Office Manager / Client Liaison
Your first contact with our firm is likely to be Jonathan Denny, our Office Manager and Client Liaison. In that role, Jonathan is dedicated to welcoming you with a personal approach and an efficient introduction to our firm and the range of help and services that we offer. We hope you will be able to hear the smile in his voice as he answers your questions, for his helpful attitude is one of the attributes that made us want to hire him. Jonathan will schedule your meetings with us and send you reminders, he will send you forms and information as needed or requested, and he will make sure we know what you need and when you need it from us.
Jonathan spent the early part of his young career deeply involved in the day-to-day operations of several different firms, all stemming from his first experience: a summer internship at his father’s firm as a sophomore in high school. This gave him experience in many different aspects of the legal field, including not only family law and mediation, but also foreclosure, debt collection, medical malpractice, and personal injury, which he then used in other legal contexts. Before Jonathan joined Brigitte Schmidt Bell, P.C., in February 2015, he was the Litigation Supervisor for Adler & Associates, LLC, where he performed a wide array of paralegal tasks to support the lawyers in court and with their clients. He also taught their new employees the ins and outs of working in a law firm. Before his time at Adler, he worked as a Dispatcher/Scheduler for Safe Environment Business Solutions, a national security firm based out of New York with a Chicago office. His prior experience included time as a court runner at United Processing, Inc., serving subpoenas and summons.
In addition to an interest in the legal field and helping people, Jonathan plays the cello and enjoys making music of all kinds. He studied music for a year at Hope College in Holland, Michigan, before deciding the musical profession was not his calling. Since then, his work ethic and willingness to learn have made him an adaptable member of many different teams over the past few years. He has worked as a package handler (UPS/O’Hare), a gelatiere (Linz & Vail, a local Evanston coffee shop), and kitchen staff volunteer for an entire summer (Cedar Campus, a leadership camp in the Upper Peninsula run by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship). All of these experiences have played a vital part in preparing him to handle the office management here at Brigitte Schmidt Bell, P.C.
